Here it is at long last, the exciting conclusion to my journey into ska from the 1980s! I’ll admit, I myself can’t understand why I’ve never included “Ghost Town” on 23min of Ska before, but I’m glad I saved it, it’s a hell of a song to end this mix on! Looking at the downloads and page views I still can’t tell if doing all ’80s ska for a month was a hit or a flop, either way I had fun learning about a lot of bands I’d either never heard of before or had only heard of in passing. I feel I’ve grown my ska knowledge w/ this virtual 90min mix tape, and I hope that my listeners have too, either that or have had a fun jaunt down memory lane!
And here we are, kicking off the second side of this virtual 90min ’80s ska mix tape. Here’s a lot more familiar bands for current ska listeners, heck some of these bands are still together and out there playing great music to anyone who cares to listen! On that note, I’d like to thank you for listening as well, all ya’ll are the best!
Now here’s an episode I’m worried about. These bands aren’t the heaviest of hitters when it comes to name recognition, but I assure you, they’re every bit as good as any of the ’80s ska bands that you’re more familiar with. If you hadn’t heard of any of these acts before, well, seriously, you’re in for a blue beat treat!

It’s May again, that means it is time for the start another mix tape! This time I’m taking on the ’80s. Don’t confuse this with a best of the ’80s kind of thing, it is just a bunch of great ska from that decade. Sure, it is a lot of great songs and over looked gems, so there’s a solid reason to listen in. I’ve used a lot of the hit songs in other episodes, but there was no slim pickings when it comes to the ’80s with what was left for me to pull from. I sincerely hope that you enjoy this little trip back in time, and look forward to the rest of “virtual 90min mix tape” as May continues.
