Okay, I’m going to level with ya’ll. I’ve never seen “Nikita” AKA “le Femme Nikita.” Hell, I have never even seen “Point of No Return.” But after picking a few songs after reading a plot synopsis on Wikipedia, I decided this episode needed more French bands. So a lot of early picks got replaced, because, well, this is the perfect excuse to get into some French ska! Sure, two American bands remained from the original song line up, but those are good songs which I think are relevant to the film… right? Alright, fine, I just really liked those two songs and didn’t want to replace them, are you happy? Also, I don’t speak French, so I hope that in the songs sang in French those bands aren’t saying some really horrible stuff!

Time for things to get a little darker… a little more… interesting… time for… ska! To be fair, it is always time for ska, and this week is no different. Another great selection of ska from around the world! While most of these bands are American based, we have 65 Mines Street checking in from France and Bombskare banging it out in Scotland. We also have a quick check in from the 90s, with the over looked Bim Skala Bim and a Save Ferris track from their over looked second full length. Also a song from Big D & the Kids Table that was recorded for “For the Damned, the Dumb & the Delirious” but is just being released now, a song from the ever awesome Bashments and rounding it out is the Independents, the best ska band to listen to as we enter the Halloween season!
I don’t really get caught up in Olympic fever, sports aren’t really my thing. Saying that, I’ve always thought that the idea of the entire world converging in one spot was pretty damn cool. Even if it was sport related. So, in the spirit of gathering things from around the world, I have an awesome, highly international (because that’s the point) episode for you today. This podcast features bands from Greece, Australia, Korea, the USA, France, Japan, Sweden and Germany respectively. Enjoy it, I know I did discovering these bands and putting this together.
