Welcome back to 23min of Ska! I’m really happy to be playing so many new bands on this episode! For me ska and ska/punk will never be a nostalgia act. Sure, there’s plenty of older bands that I dig, but man, nothing compares to sifting through the internet or used record bins finding new and interesting bands, the ones that are keeping ska alive! So I really hope you all dig this episode, a lot of “research” (sitting in my office jamming out to ska music) went into this one, and check these bands out!
Is everyone ready for 2016? I sure am! Another year for some great ska music! I mean 2015 was a pretty damn fine year! Hell, just in December some truly great ska albums came out, some of them represented on this very episode! So strap in, 2016 looks like it is going to be just as awesome! Also, if this is your first time checking out 23min of Ska, well, I feel that this episode is pretty great and pretty typical, so if this is the kinda thing you like to hear, subscribe on up! This is the 200th one that’s been produced, so go download the other 199 (+ special eps)!
Man oh man, do I love phrases that have double meanings! “To strike out on your own” mean either to leave everything behind and enter into the world, or it can mean to fail all by your self. I kinda like that, life always has more than one meaning, which is what makes it so great! Right? Well, I think I’m right at least. So hey, here’s a bunch of kick ass ska and ska/punk music for you! If you never heard of any of these bands before, you’re in for a treat! Also, if you know some of them, but not all, I’ll let know right now, they all measure up to each other. So sit back, relax and may your wins be more than your losses.
Hey all you kids, here’s a special episode that’s close to my heart. Just kidding, it’s just a lot more great ska, ska/punk and rocksteady for you to listen you to on this Valentine’s eve. I guess I don’t have too much more to say about this one, I just hope that you have someone to enjoy listening to this episode with.
Yup, back, sorry about the week off last week, doing 23min of Ska, running Grandpa’s Casino Recordings, producing the Grandpa’s Casino Radio Show all caught up with me! Last time I said I needed to bring back the ska-punk, and I’ve continued on that front! Also, getting in some classic Metro Stylee as well as all manner of UK ska from Drewvis & By the Rivers. Once again I hope that you all find this episode in good health and good times, and if not, may they come to you soon.
