For the past several years, around this time of year, I try to make an episode that I think my wife, who’s not really a ska fan, will dig. I’m not saying this is the episode to introduce a non-ska fan to ska with, unless you’re talking about my wife. I’m really surprised I never played “Set Sail” on any of these episodes (or any episode at all) before! But yeah, this is for you Allison, thanks for 5 fantastic years!

The theme is the end. The Apocalypse is an end. The horsemen come and herald the end. The theme for this episode is fours and endings. I didn’t think about the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse until I was trying to think of a better name for this episode than “Nothing Lasts Four Ever” and now I feel I wasted a perfectly good theme. Well… maybe I’ll come back to it some day… I mean… I’m not really going to end 23min of Ska am I?
This episode is not about tennis. This episode is about awesomeness. Awesomeness like my wife, and it is our 4th anniversary this very day! Hurrah! She’s awesome, I suggest everyone leap out into the world and try and find someone to grow old with, trust me, it’s worth it! Ok, if I type anymore, it’ll get mushier, so I’ll just stop here.
When life has gotten you down, and you don’t know what to do about it, just stop, think, and smile. Seriously, it sounds goofy as all hell, but it works. It really does. I hate to sound like a hippie here, but it is just as simple as that. And if you need some help returning to that happy person you once were, toss on this episode to brighten your day up! It’s a keeper w/ a ton of great tracks!
Apparently I’ve been going about this all wrong. Ska/Punk music is the devil! I shall cast that evil off of this episode! Get back to the roots! Be a proper ska podcaster! But lo, still I fail. Why? Because I dare to support the modern ska bands that are still out there playing. Is this a problem? To some it seems to be. It won’t stop me and the hate won’t stop them. Join us, as we turn our backs on those who don’t agree. Hell, we have more fun than they do anyway. Rock on my brothers and sisters in ska, rock the eff on.
There aren’t too many traditions on 23min of Ska, in fact some are very secret, but this is a well known one, around this time of year I make an episode comprised on of music made this year. This isn’t a “best of” this isn’t a “you may’ve missed” it is just 23 minutes of ska music that was released in the year twenty twelve. If you’re saying that good ska isn’t being made anymore, then listen to this, you may just be wrong!
