23min of Ska : Lemon Curd

23skaLEMONCURDUnlike last week, I’m keeping it pretty traditional as far as the sound goes. I mean, there’s still some room for other genres to worm into the ska beat, but it certainly isn’t punk or rock this time. It’s a laid-back kind of sound this week. I hope you all enjoy. Oh, and take care of each other out there, it’s been a rough one this week.

23min of Ska : the Lady in the Lake

23skaaxeHey everyone one! What’s up? I’ve just finished the first of a three-night Slackers concert. I’m tired as heck, but man, still so excited for tonight and tomorrow! This is a laid back episode highlighting not only the Slackers, but the other bands that will be playing (or most likely will be in attendance at least) with them for their stand up at the Troubadour. Not sure how I’m supposed to make it through work on Friday, and my wife already has plans to let me sleep in in Saturday, because she knows that 3 days of work and ska is going to wipe me the heck out. Sorry, I don’t usually like to brag, but I’m super excited about these shows!

23min of Ska : Days of Future Present

23skaFUTUREPRESENTI’m going to admit it right here, straight up, all I wanted to do was bring you a batch of fresh new ska music released in the first few months of 2016. I wasn’t really worried about the theme, plus this story is kind of a mess. But, it seems like it fits the story anyway! Not even kidding, I noticed it at about my third listen through to make sure the episode was sounding good that a large amount of these songs do reflect the story, a bit more surface than usual though. Accidentally achieving a theme with music, must be my mutant power.

00:00 – the Pomps – All My Guns (Indie Rock is Dying ’16)
03:36 – the Slackers – By the Time I Get to Sleep (the Slackers ’16)
