This episode is full of true blue friends, fantastic acquaintances, a few online pals, and total strangers who’ve always done right by me & the show. One song I think is absolutely beautiful, and another one reduced me to tears the first time I heard it. Honestly, a lot of the tracks on this episode are contenders for former, but the latter is a rare song indeed.
A few weeks ago, my co-host over at On The Upbeat asked me and our guests to share some of what we consider to be great ska collaborations. That was the spark that set this episode in motion. I hope you all enjoy and share this episode with a friend!

I hope this podcast finds you well. I hope this podcast finds you at all. It’s a busy time, and hard not to get all caught up in it.
Things seem hectic but brush that stress aside. Don’t get caught up trying to be perfect and experience things in a perfect way. That’s undue stress that you’re better off without. The pressure from now until the end of the year can get rough, so take some time out away from your crazy aunt and drunken uncle and listen to some ska. Relax, you deserve it!

Oh man, this episode makes me wanna dance! I mean, for real wanna get up and boogie! This is a collection of some of my favorite get loud and get down kind of tunes. I hope you dig it, and if you don’t, eh, I’ll be rocking out to this one alone then!

I almost didn’t do this episode. When I was originally going to do this series of episodes I was only going to loosely base the song selection on the title, not the contents of the story. Outside of the comic, this phrase means nothing. But since I’ve tried to hit key story points, or my favorite story moments with the songs, I knew I had to go for it. It turned out pretty damn good! Then again, with bands as great as these, it’s not hard to assemble a great mix of music!

Well… I tried my damnedest to stick to the topic at hand, but it got a little too depressing. Also, this one got pretty reggae-y, which is usually not my style, but everything fit so well! I guess a few more songs about unity could’ve been in order, but I’ve played so many of them before. I feel bad that I’d also already used the Smoke Like a Fish song “God Loves, Man Kills” on an episode last Summer! Also of note, the final song on here is by the Uninvited, they’re not a ska band at all, but have played a few ska tracks here and there, this track is obviously one of them.

Is everyone ready for 2016? I sure am! Another year for some great ska music! I mean 2015 was a pretty damn fine year! Hell, just in December some truly great ska albums came out, some of them represented on this very episode! So strap in, 2016 looks like it is going to be just as awesome! Also, if this is your first time checking out 23min of Ska, well, I feel that this episode is pretty great and pretty typical, so if this is the kinda thing you like to hear, subscribe on up! This is the 200th one that’s been produced, so go download the other 199 (+ special eps)!

Of all the wack ideas I’ve done on 23min of Ska, this is the most wack. This is either a monumentally stupid idea to drop this episode right now, or an even worse idea to have even made it in the first place! But I just couldn’t help it. I swore I would never really make and episode with chiptune ska, but after hearing that Night Gaunts song and it having sounds that reminded me of video game music, well, like they say: it was on. Are all the songs straight chiptune? Hell no! That’d be boring! A lot of these artists use the computer noises to build off of, others don’t, it’s a mixed bag, just like my episodes normally are. So here it is, either the most daring episode I’ve ever made, or the worst episode I ever made. Or both. Frankly, I like it, and I felt I had to put it out. Look, son, I take risks. Stupid, stupid risks.
