This is the second episode assembled on the old 23skaLAPTOP, where actually a majority of the episodes from 2010 – 2016 were assembled! Production was only moved to the 23skaCOMPUTER after uploading the show online had become troublesome due to the laptop’s “planned” obsolescence. With help from the 23skaPHONE and 23skaTABLET we are getting the new eps out, but it’s a struggle to be sure. On the 23skaCOMPUTER front, that dude is dead, yet can be revived! So more like undead. Due to the amazing help of listeners Jason Sample, David Davis and Ryan Michael McCarroll and their amazing patience with my questions, a fix is around the corner! Thanks for listening in, and I hope to be casting out of better digs next week!

When I started putting this episode together, I was pretty mellow, I was digging what I was assembling, but I thought it needed some bite. The next day I sat down to “improve” it and I was already angry. I was wasn’t having any of the mellowness of the day before. As I picked and tossed new songs I started finding my way back to a more laid back state. This episode isn’t going after you, but it also isn’t a going to lay down, it shall be heard and you shall dance to it!

Yes, yet another ending for 23min of Ska. This is only the end of a volume, it’ll be rebooting next week, as always to bring you some more top ska! Hope you all dug the X-Men story line theme, I’ll take any excuse to dig through my long boxes, or (more likely) fire up my tablet and get wrapped up in these stories again. Once again, I hope I’ve spent the last 23 episodes bringing you a few new bands to follow, and reminding you of your old favorites.
Listen up! This episode kicks off w/ two excellent new tracks! The first from the Duppies and their new album, the second is from the Holophonics and their forthcoming album! Get excited! I’m excited! I’ve been bringing you a lot of great new ska and ska/punk this month and I couldn’t be happier to do so! It’s just that time of year where the new stuff is coming out fast! I’m happy that it gives me us all something great to listen to when we’re stuck at our jobs instead of out living it up and seeing bands and drinking lemonade! Work sucks, but great tunes make it bearable. Thanks to all the bands, thank you for saving us from our mundane lives and giving us something to dance to!
There is so much going on day to day to be conscious of everything that is going on. There is so much more awareness that each of us need just to get by, or at least get by being fully informed that is. This is something we can all strive for, and achieve, but we always must be aware of the pitfalls of thinking we’ve got how the world works all figured out. We don’t, we never will, we need to find our place in it and remember why we are where we are at, and if that needs to change, we change it. We can do this, make the planet better, but we always need to be meta-conscious of ourselves.
Oh, and hey, this first track is by the very excellent the Duppies and they’re trying to raise some cash for their new album. This is the title track, if you dig it, there’s more of it to come! Toss down for some great music: http://kck.st/1NfUHaM
