23min of Ska : the October Issue!

23skaOCTOBER

cover photo by Andrea Hunter

Here’s another one of those episodes where I play around with how far I can stretch the definition of “ska.” If I was more interested in that concept I should’ve made the song sequence go from least to most in terms of ska, but I opted, as always, for song flow. Also, about half these tracks I’ve been trying to find a home for for months and I’m so glad I found the best episode to put them in! Thanks for listening, now go do something amazing!

23min of Ska : the Coming Four Horsemen

23skaHORSEMENThe theme is the end. The Apocalypse is an end. The horsemen come and herald the end. The theme for this episode is fours and endings. I didn’t think about the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse until I was trying to think of a better name for this episode than “Nothing Lasts Four Ever” and now I feel I wasted a perfectly good theme. Well… maybe I’ll come back to it some day… I mean… I’m not really going to end 23min of Ska am I?

00:00 – Dan P. & the Bricks – Connecting Four (Watch Where You Walk ’12)

17:36 – the Hotknives – Last Song on the Jukebox (Screams, Dreams and Custard Creams ’00)

23min of Ska : Chaos

23skaCHAOSThings fall apart. Things go to hell. This is how the universe works. It is time to get used to it. Take this episode for example. I had no idea what I was going to do. I have been kinda sick all week and had few ideas, so yeah, I though this is going to be a tough one. It wasn’t. It was a breeze! It all fit together! And hey, look, two different songs w/ the same name, I surely didn’t plan that! Chaos rules!
