Not gonna lie, I didn’t even realize how all over the globe this mix was until I had finalized it for the episode and started putting the links together for the website! As always, I hope you enjoy and thanks for coming here to keep getting some ska into your ears!

Oh, uh, hey look, it’s an episode, on Valentine’s Day! Okay, yeah, it isn’t really all to Valentine Day-y, but with all the computer problems the show has been suffering, well, this episode almost didn’t even get done! I know! I’m shocked I got it out if I’m being completely honest! I hope you enjoy it and I hope to be casting to you next week as well!

They said it couldn’t be done… wait… maybe they said it shouldn’t be done… that seems more likely… either way, here it is, more songs and bands than have ever been stuffed into a single episode of 23min of Ska. 23min of Ska is always coming at you with a lot of great ska music, we’re just pushing the envelope this time.
This sure is a fun batch of songs! The first several songs are pretty straight forward in how they relate to the over all comic’s story. Right? Well, I think so! The last two… maybe not so much. “Walking Away” is referring Prof. X being able to walk, if even a short time (Don’t worry Charles, this will be happening so often it’s like you’re barely even in a wheelchair.) And “No Moaning at the Bar” was inspired by Beast and Angel fixing up Harry’s Hideaway at the end of the story line. Got it? Ok! Now listen and read comics!
Well… I tried my damnedest to stick to the topic at hand, but it got a little too depressing. Also, this one got pretty reggae-y, which is usually not my style, but everything fit so well! I guess a few more songs about unity could’ve been in order, but I’ve played so many of them before. I feel bad that I’d also already used the Smoke Like a Fish song “God Loves, Man Kills” on an episode last Summer! Also of note, the final song on here is by the Uninvited, they’re not a ska band at all, but have played a few ska tracks here and there, this track is obviously one of them.
Where exactly are we now? What are we doing here? Who are these people? Why are we here? When can we go home? Questions, we all have them. We should never stop having them. Those in power seek to keep power by keeping us occupied. Break the chains. Look up to your leaders and ask them questions. The ones that are worth following will be happy to answer.
Someone told me ya’ll like ska and ska/punk around here. Is that true? If so, you’re in so much damn luck! I have for you today, not 1, not 10, not even 20, but 23 whole minutes of ska, over stuffed and packed tight for your listening pleasure! This episode features a couple new bands that I haven’t played before, it also includes some rarer tracks from some classic bands, and some bands that just need more play so that you’ll know a song or two when they get to your town to rock your face off!
