Oh, uh, hey look, it’s an episode, on Valentine’s Day! Okay, yeah, it isn’t really all to Valentine Day-y, but with all the computer problems the show has been suffering, well, this episode almost didn’t even get done! I know! I’m shocked I got it out if I’m being completely honest! I hope you enjoy it and I hope to be casting to you next week as well!

They said it couldn’t be done… wait… maybe they said it shouldn’t be done… that seems more likely… either way, here it is, more songs and bands than have ever been stuffed into a single episode of 23min of Ska. 23min of Ska is always coming at you with a lot of great ska music, we’re just pushing the envelope this time.
This sure is a fun batch of songs! The first several songs are pretty straight forward in how they relate to the over all comic’s story. Right? Well, I think so! The last two… maybe not so much. “Walking Away” is referring Prof. X being able to walk, if even a short time (Don’t worry Charles, this will be happening so often it’s like you’re barely even in a wheelchair.) And “No Moaning at the Bar” was inspired by Beast and Angel fixing up Harry’s Hideaway at the end of the story line. Got it? Ok! Now listen and read comics!
Well… I tried my damnedest to stick to the topic at hand, but it got a little too depressing. Also, this one got pretty reggae-y, which is usually not my style, but everything fit so well! I guess a few more songs about unity could’ve been in order, but I’ve played so many of them before. I feel bad that I’d also already used the Smoke Like a Fish song “God Loves, Man Kills” on an episode last Summer! Also of note, the final song on here is by the Uninvited, they’re not a ska band at all, but have played a few ska tracks here and there, this track is obviously one of them.
Where exactly are we now? What are we doing here? Who are these people? Why are we here? When can we go home? Questions, we all have them. We should never stop having them. Those in power seek to keep power by keeping us occupied. Break the chains. Look up to your leaders and ask them questions. The ones that are worth following will be happy to answer.
Someone told me ya’ll like ska and ska/punk around here. Is that true? If so, you’re in so much damn luck! I have for you today, not 1, not 10, not even 20, but 23 whole minutes of ska, over stuffed and packed tight for your listening pleasure! This episode features a couple new bands that I haven’t played before, it also includes some rarer tracks from some classic bands, and some bands that just need more play so that you’ll know a song or two when they get to your town to rock your face off!
Bam! The ska hits, they just keep coming! They’re like something that you just can’t do with out. Sounds familiar. Anyway, what do we have hear? Some more awesome and fresh tracks! We have a brand new track from Half Past Two’s forthcoming EP and a track from Chainska Brassika’s forthcoming album! Woah! Too much killer new stuff! Also that Bumpin Uglies track just came out last week, and that track from the Kings, just two weeks ago! It is seriously good stuff! Not to say that the rest is old and ok, no no my friends, it is all good! Trust me, this is one episode that you cannot do without!
Hey all, it’s a time for family, and in this case, the ska family, and the particular member in need is our old pals the A-OKs! They’re trying to crowd-fund their next album check it out! So I asked them to help me get this episode together, a group effort if you will, to put some good music in your ears, so think about helping them create some more. Do something for your community, Jake Jordan would, because sometimes a single good person can make a difference!
Back again, with a few things different. No more crazy long episode titles. Slightly new logo on the episode art. Same great ska mixed down into a 23 minute package. This episode kicks off w/ a new song, a brand new song, a debut song, in fact, from I Voted for Kodos, check that out! All these other songs are great too, so I hope that you enjoy them as well as the rest of this episode!
