I think it’s due to there being a lot of good ska to pick from, as well as me really want to play music from bands that I LOVE! 23min of Ska : the Ska/Ski Connection

Here’s a small bundle of ska to keep you warm on such a Winter’s day. It’s a cold world out there, literally and more, so be sure to keep yourself and others warm. 23min of Ska : the Hunt for a Decent Ska Pun

Ska puns, I hate them. Sure you could say I’m no fun, and you might not be wrong, but really, there’s so much more depth and joy in this scene that ska puns just seem, oh so lame. A band has to be super good to overcome a pun name, let’s just leave it at that. So yeah, another fun episode, not where I intended to go with it, I just kept swapping out songs and ended up with this killer set. I hope you enjoy, and I hope you come back to listen next week!

00:00 – Dang!t feat. Half Past Two – Is This Ska? (What do You Know About Ska-Punk Vol. 5 comp ’21)

19:58 – Couching Distance – Headphones (Headphones ’21)

23min of Ska : Hate the Beach

23skaCOMICShecticSo for the first time in a long time I was up so late perfecting this episode. I thought I’d had the music part done several times. One time I even saved it for publishing. Thing is, it didn’t feel right, the next few drafts didn’t feel right either. It took time, but “Hectic Planet” is one of my favorite and well missed comics of all time. Trying to capture what I like about the book using the music I dig most highly, and trying to promote a load of current ska bands, it is something that needs perfecting and perfection. If you’ve never read “Hectic Planet” you owe it to yourself to dig up the 3 collections out there and enjoy. And if the art looks familiar, it should, “Hectic Planet” artist and writer Evan Dorkin did a host of ska compilation covers throughout the ’90s. He’s a staple of the scene and a staple of my life.
