There is so much going on day to day to be conscious of everything that is going on. There is so much more awareness that each of us need just to get by, or at least get by being fully informed that is. This is something we can all strive for, and achieve, but we always must be aware of the pitfalls of thinking we’ve got how the world works all figured out. We don’t, we never will, we need to find our place in it and remember why we are where we are at, and if that needs to change, we change it. We can do this, make the planet better, but we always need to be meta-conscious of ourselves.
Oh, and hey, this first track is by the very excellent the Duppies and they’re trying to raise some cash for their new album. This is the title track, if you dig it, there’s more of it to come! Toss down for some great music: http://kck.st/1NfUHaM
Being and young and rebellious comes more naturally to some than it does to others. I personally became more rebellious as I got older, but longed to be more of a character like Klarion that goes against the wishes of his family and town to seek out what is beyond the society he grew up in. As serious as those ambitions are he isn’t afraid to be seen as weird as he laughs all the way to a new life. We can all make these sorts of changes in our lives, we just have to roll the dice…
Here we go, back in the saddle, the kind of show that I’m used to putting together, a bunch of great and modern ska bands from all over and a few of the greats from the more recent past. I hope that you continue to enjoy what I’m doing here week to week.
Another day, another morning, starting off in the bedroom (or your best friend’s kitchen floor) knowing that it is time to go again. Time to do whatever it is you do in a day. I just hope this episode brings you happiness and you set out bravely into another day in your life.
It is that time again, the end to an other year, the end of another session of 23min of Ska and soon the end of the holiday season… but we’re not there yet folks! There’s plenty of music and festivities to dance for and because of. So put your dancin’ shoes on, bundle up, get out to a show, or your grandparents house, and kick it up and have some fun! It doesn’t matter what you celebrate, as long as you are having a celebration!
If you’re in a ska band and would like to be interviewed or have a song featured, please email me at radjose[at]gmail[dot]com.
